Singapore Holidays

About Singapore

Singapore is a beautifully modern island located between Malaysia and Indonesia just off the southern extremity of the Malay Peninsula. Known as the 'Lion City', Singapore has rapidly grown into an international business centre and while development has left the city dazzlingly clean and uber modern, Singapore still retains its original culturally layered charm. Amongst the futuristic blocks, buildings and malls, you can still happen across historic quarters tucked away, where the streets are vibrant with the colours, sounds and smells of a multi ethnic street life. Holidays in Singapore truly are an experience of wonderful contrasts.

Singapore Culture & Style

Its location in Southeast Asia has made Singapore an island that has drawn influences and cultures from its neighbouring areas of China, Indonesia and Malaysia. Each different society has its own quarters in the city yet the influences are apparent throughout the island. The interwoven streets and alleyways are a colourful myriad of colonial architecture, temples, mosques, markets and street stalls. With all the modern convenience of luxury hotels, modern shopping facilities and first class restaurants and bars only a stone's throw away, the blend of old and new makes both an eclectic and beguiling holiday.

Relaxing Singapore Holidays

The wonderfully tropical climate here in Singapore makes it the perfect holiday destination to make the most of the stunning paradisal beaches. Abundant on the island's east coast or on the surrounding islets, Singapore's beaches are characterised by fine white sands, azure glassy waters and an ambience of restful relaxation. With so much colourful versatility, Singapore is a place to embrace the modern, indulge in the past and have a wonderful holiday of a lifetime.

Singapore Cuisine

Holidays in Singapore are a gastronome’s dream. Its mixed areas of ethnic minorities give you a wide choice when choosing where to dine. You can sample the traditional dishes of Malaysia, India and China during your Eastern holidays; the gourmet possibilities are endless. For a more rustic taste, street vendors sell traditional fast food dishes from all cuisines or for a more languorous meal you can find restaurants and cafes in all the ethnic quarters. In the city’s modern district, to add a touch of class to your holidays, there are a wonderful selection of al fresco cafes and upscale restaurants where international cuisine is on offer.

Singapore Holiday Attractions

Singapore's establishment as a capital of commerce has given rise to a mass of development, making it a world class city of modern amenity. One of the primary attractions of a Singapore holiday is the vibrant shopping scene. The luxury area of Orchard Road can cater to all your needs from designer wear to jewellery and all the latest electronic gadgets. In this area you will also find all the modern nightclubs, bars and international restaurants.

Alongside the modern metropolis, much of the charm of Singapore holidays lies in its historic areas and ethnic quarters. Spend some time on your holidays wandering amongst the Chinese, Malay and Indian structures of temples, mosques and markets, where you can get a real taste of Singapore's multiplicity. From the calming religious buildings and museums to the animated hawker centres and street stalls, the diversity makes your holidays colourful and fascinating, and deals endless possibilities for things to see and do.

Singapore Weather

Enjoy Singapore holidays, where the climate is fairly predictable throughout the year as it is not susceptible to much seasonal change. Typically tropical, the weather is usually hot and humid with the chance of short heavy showers occurring most days. Rain is usually in the afternoon and lasts for 1-3 hours, so with careful planning should not spoil your holiday. There are two monsoon seasons, between December-March and June-September when the rain showers will be at their heaviest. Typical temperatures range from 26-30 degrees and the average rain fall is a high 2370mm.
