A Hanoi Holiday

About holidays to Hanoi

Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam and with a rich heritage, also it's commonly known capital of culture. Resting majestically on the banks of the Red River in the north of the country, Hanoi City is beautifully scenic and picturesque; the perfect destination for your Asian holiday. Legacy of the French Occupation, the wide tree lined boulevards and colonial architecture make pretty surroundings and with a wealth of opulent public parks and scenic lakes close by, Hanoi has earned itself the pseudonym of 'City of Lakes'.

Hanoi's turbulent past of occupation and domination is reflected in the varied mix of architecture and culture cobbled on the city's streets. Dominations from France, China and Japan have left their mark and there are many sites and museums chronicling this chaotic past. Not all bloodshed and war, there is also has a wonderfully romantic history of mythology and legend to be discovered in Hanoi. The city's beautiful West Lake is traditionally said to be born of the footprint of a golden calf. In fact the city of Hanoi is the most culturally rich city in Vietnam and has over 600 pagodas and temples.

Hanoi holidays are beautifully relaxed and peaceful. Ancient culture and modernization have been perfectly blended to create a charming atmosphere which is relatively calm and slow paced. The people are laid back and friendly and welcome you to their wonderful city. Hanoi's Old Quarter gives a taste of yesteryear as you wander through old shops and markets, tasting the local cuisine and haggling for bargain deals on souvenirs and curios. Yet modern comfort offers you in Hanoi's shopping centres, clubs, restaurants and bars. The beautifully tranquil surroundings are the perfect place to relax and enjoy your taste of the East on your superb Hanoi holiday.
